Recruiting is Not a One-time Event

Many people are gravely mistaken into believing building teams in Network Marketing or Direct Sales (recruiting) is a one time event. This is not accurate...

Team Building requires a pipeline. It requires the ability to work with people of every personality type (there are 4 and we will be covering those in an upcoming blog). It requires allowing people to learn about your business and all the details about your products or services at their own speed. Some prospects will "see it" sooner than others. I like to refer to this as the discovery phase. So the first thing you do is you introduce your prospect to some sort of sizzle video or short initial info video to grab their attention. This could be described as "opening the parachute of their mind".

 

A BIG mistake I see many of you making (which I made in the past), even in pitching me your business, is that if I am not ready to jump on your team on day 1 then you seldom follow up with me later. (see the Money is in the Follow up, in an upcoming blog entry). FACT: Very few people will join you in your business on the day you contact them or after they watch your sizzle video! Especially the Analytical Thinker. These types will need all the details and information in order to make an informed decision. You might get a couple A Type personalities to jump-in before knowing all the details, but you have to be prepared for all types.

 

In closing, once you have a chance to understand the 4 personality types and you settle in your mind that recruiting is a process and requires patience and follow up, you will begin to see growth in your personal development, your skill-sets, your front line and organization.
